| The "A" in the "ABC" islands chain, Aruba is best known for its beaches and casinos. Beach life, sun worshiping, ocean sport "toys" are the name of the game. This island has a total vacation package with no overriding central theme except sand and water. Scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, water-skiing, parasailing, catamaran cruises, deep sea fishing, tennis, horseback riding all awaits the traveler to Aruba. | ![]() |
| Sun and fun is certainly the order of each day, however, save some energy for the nightlife. Unlike many Caribbean islands, Aruba comes to life at night, most all hotels have live entertainment with 10 major hotels sporting a casino. | ![]() |
| For an island that is only 19 miles long and 6 miles wide, Aruba has grown into a major hotel and resort mecca. Traditional hotel rooms, condos, and time share opportunities are available, but Aruba is not a "quaint Caribbean island" (14 hotels have 200+ rooms), so if small is what you're looking for, Aruba is not it. | |
| Aruba is best suited for a "group vacation" spot where varying interests need to be accommodated. If sand, sun, nightlife and casinos are the type of fun you're looking for, Aruba is the place to go. |
Scuba:
Not a strong asset of this island. Scuba diving is one of a smorgasbord of water sport choices. This is because of the few dive site locations the reef provides. Most all dive locations are on a fixed bottom depth with no wall diving opportunities. Because the reef is not a major feature there are no wreck dive opportunities. If scuba diving is your major interest, Bonaire of the "ABC" island chain is your better choice.
