"Three-Quarters of the
surface of the earth is covered by water"
That was the opening line of my 3rd
grade speech in 1961. Little did I realize that "water" in the form of fishing,
boating and scuba diving would become an intricate part of my life.
Hi everyone, my name is Charlie,
I'm a PADI Dive Master having been Open-Water Certified since 1988.
From
the first dive trip to Belize in Jan.
1989, I have been interested in sharing with non-divers the beauty and awesome experience
of the underwater life. Having been introduced to photography through family experiences,
I was looking at the possibility of using those talents to bring the undersea world above
water. I was afraid that still photography, while spectacular, might limit my enjoyment of
the entire underwater experience. Not wanting to miss anything I found an alternative to
the still photography.
During a dive
trip to Cozumel in 1995, I was
introduced to underwater videography. On a subsequent trip to Grand Cayman I again found that video photography was the
best way to capture the true ebb and flow of the magnificents of the undersea world. I
then purchased an underwater video housing, HI-8 camera, lights along with editing
equipment to bring back the undersea life.
All my
subsequent trips have been recorded and enjoyed by certified divers and non-divers alike.
It was from the encouragement of these people that I decided to open my collection to the
internet world. It is my hope that the video tapes will be enjoyed on multiple levels;
possibly a new found interest for Scuba diving, entertainment during "cold snowy
days", a "video brochure" for future vacation sights, education for children
about the fragile sea environment, or simply a "stress release" from busy days.
The following areas are available at the present time with new locations
being added annually: Belize,
Cayman Brac,
Cozumel, Grand
Turks, Roatan,
Turks & Caicos.
There is also footage from two of the finest "Live-aboard"
dive boats operations world-wide, the Peter
Hughes fleet and the Aggressor
fleet. A cavern
dive video from south of Playa del Carman Mexico is available.
I truly hope that everyone
will enjoy the videos and remember, its up to each of us to keep the undersea world
as pristine as possible so "Mother Earth" may survive.
ENJOY
Charlie
