50 miles straight south on Route 1 from Miami opens the fantastic Florida Keys.  A reef structure that provides some of the best scuba diving  not only  in the United States but the Caribbean too.

A string of islands that starts at Key Largo and the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary and travels to the southern most tip anchored by Key West 110 miles away.  Key West has been made famous by Jimmy Buffett and others hooked on the ocean's treasures found in the numerous national parks.  A wild and crazy island life style is spawn by the  residents and tourists to these locations.  A total vacation experience can be found in the Keys, with it all based around water activities: scuba, deep-sea & bone  fishing, sailing, para-sailing, jet skiing, and sun worshipping on sandy beaches.

Don't use up all your energy during the days, the night life rocks & rolls in numerous bars & restaurants.  Party hardy is the order of the day & night !!

Go to the Florida Keys and "nibbling on sponge cake, watching the sun bake, all the tourists covered with oil!" (from Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville)

Scuba:

All  the best diving at Key Largo is found in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary.

The Florida Keys provides different dive operations for different tastes.  Most divers go to the larger dive operations, however, if your skill level allows a smaller operator will take up to 8 divers out to more remote and untouched reef locations.  For the little bit of "investigative time" and a few less boat luxuries, the experienced diver will be well rewarded with world-class treasures of the Florida Keys.

Key Largo Wreck Dive locations :

U.S.C.G. Bibb & U.S.C.G  Duane

Benwood Wreck

W.W.II freighter that ran a ground and sunk, only the hull remains in 20' -45' of water
