| Tobago is a place of natural beauty. This
mountainous island is covered with large forests of palm trees, giving Tobago a look more
reminiscent of the South Pacific than the Caribbean. Tobago is known for its unspoiled
beaches, its warm and friendly people and its relaxed atmosphere. Above the seas, Tobago presents a wide variety of activities from golf, birdwatching, hiking, deep sea fishing, sailing, and of course the beaches for sun & fun, but beneath the waters it has untold riches. It is a mainly volcanic island, with green hills, falling steeply into the sea. Below the surface the cliffs form rocky canyons, underwater tunnels, deep and shallow caves; the currents drift past sheer walls and giant rock-faces. Tobago has the Atlantic Ocean on the eastside and the Caribbean Sea on the westside causing drift diving at its finest. The diversity of abundant marine life and prolific reefs are a direct result of Tobago's unique location in the midst of converging ocean currents. Teeming with fish feed by nutrient rich waters, the activity beneath the surface forms a sharp contract with the topside tranquility. Emerging from the sea, Tobago has one of the largest nesting populations of leatherback turtles in the Caribbean. Watching six foot, 1000 pound leatherback turtles haul themselves laboriously up the beach, dig nests and lay their eggs in the dark is a sight not soon forgotten. (Nesting season runs from Mar. - June primarily on the leeward side between Great Courland Bay to Turtle Beach)

Current diving is the technique used, pushing divers past hundreds of species of fish in a rainbow of colors from small Butterfly fish to groups of Queen Angels, French Angels, Parrottfish, Grunts, Barracuda. Larger pelagic encounters are also common, Turtles, Sharks, Spotted Eagle Rays, Tuna, Dolphins, Tarpon, can be seen on any given dive... occasional Whale Shark sightings !!
